Chester’s Interview for magazine Billboard: Linkin Park Thinking Conceptual For Next Album

Chester Bennington tells to musical magazine Billboard about ideas of the fourth studio album Linkin Park , work over which will begin in November of this year. He speaks very frostily:

"I’m not sure I’m allowed to say what the big plan is… Linkin Park never envisioned ourselves doing a concept record, but we see an opportunity to do something really cool so we jumped on it, and we’ll see how it comes out. I think it’s a challenge and we’ll see if we can rise to the occasion."

"If we’re writing a song with a specific purpose you’re allowed to step out of the realms of commercialism a little bit. You don’t want to dilute that purpose with something that doesn’t have anything to do with it, which is really interesting."

Bennington is putting the finishing touches on his first solo album , which is recorded with producer Howard Benson , hoping to let out its next spring or in the summer :

"I’ll probably be finished in the next couple months. Style of music – rock , with a little bit of an electronic element to it, lots of keys and snyths and stuff like that. And there are a few elements where I think you’ll be able to see what my influence on (Linkin Park ) is. I will give as much as possible concerts in support of an album, but in this case I’m putting myself in a situation where I can’t finish the Linkin Park record because I’m supposed to be on a tour. It’s a really delicate kind of balancing act I’m gonna try to pull off here."
